“My husband is wondering why we need a designer.”

We kid (mostly). But this isn’t our first rodeo, so let’s call a spade a spade.

Our experience saves your sanity in many ways - Our established relationships with both sellers and proven trades and craftsman will save you money, time and do-overs. Our thorough knowledge of the cost and types of finishes will help distill your choices in a Pinterest world gone crazy.

We help you flesh out your vision, for your space, faster, while helping you stay within scope and budget.

“Will you work with my general contractor / architect / etc?”

We most certainly will, and we’re happy to do so!

Need a recommendation? We can help there, too. We’ve met so many great contacts over the years, and we’re proud to recommend the best.

“Did you for real work with joanna gaines?”

I (Jennie) for real did.

I was her first employee in her original Magnolia store, on Bosque Blvd in Waco. I’ll personally attest she and Chip are as authentic as the show implies, and they deserve all their success and more.

I’m so grateful for all I learned under them.

“Help me understand how discounts and markup work.”

From time to time, one criticism we’ve heard of the design industry is that the pricing is sometimes vague. Clients wonder how it all breaks down.

We should mention that many of our clients work with us purely for design consulting, without purchasing furniture. Even for items like tile, flooring and materials, we can often access a discount through trade accounts.

In the case of furniture, those same trade accounts can be used to purchase many retails furniture items at a discount, which often averages to around 20%. Many designers buy those items at that discount, and resell to their clients at retail price - effectively what they’d pay if they picked out themselves.

While not inherently wrong, we’ve heard clients mention a dissatisfaction with only learning about that practice in hindsight.

We prefer a simpler approach, using flat fess, project budget %s or simple hourly rates, tracked down to the minute. Before commencing any project, we spell it all out in a detail Project Agreement with each client.

“if I watch enough hgtv, can’t I just figure this stuff out myself?”

That’s certainly possible. Far be it from us to limit your potential.

But, more than a few clients have called us just a few weeks into the job, with a simple and clear request - “Help.”

And we’re thrilled to do so :)
